Having connection or performance issues with your wireless network? Do you have poor or intermittent Wi-Fi signals or poor video or audio streaming? Here I share some tips on increasing Wi-Fi performance. And most don’t even require spending money.

Reposition your router - First try simply moving your wireless router. Ideally you want it placed in the center of your desired coverage area, but keep in mind you’ll probably need to move your modem as well. Moving it to an optimum spot can help increase range and speeds.

Optoplex Optical Channel Monitor

Optoplex Optical channel monitor (OCM) uses proprietary thin-film interference filter technology combined with a micro-actuator and high-speed electronics. Optical channel monitor is used to measure critical information data on optical transmission signals in DWDM networks for monitoring signal dynamics, determining system functionality, identifying performance change, and providing feedback for controling network elements so as to optimize operational performance. In particular, Optoplex Optical channel monitor can automatically scan the C-, L- or C+L-band wavelength range and precisely measure channel wavelength, power, and optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR). Bandwidth requirements for Voice over IP transmission

The method suggested in the previous section offers a simplistic view of the bandwidth calculation process. It is valid for most coding algorithms, however, it assumes that voice samples can be transmitted within a 20ms datagram. For coding algorithms which use much smaller sampling periods, multiple samples can be sent within each packet, and the samples can be buffered for up to 20ms. However, some algorithms do not produce samples which can be fitted exactly into 20ms datagrams, and for those algorithms, the 16kbps rule of thumb becomes invalid.
